i want to make mom sumtin but confused about needlepoint.?

i have a 7count plastic canvas, 16 & 18 needles, and 2ply 100% nylon needloft thread. But im really confused about how to thread the needle. I fell like im stupid missing something as simple as threading needles. but im no t sure to seperate it or double it or what! Please help it will be GREATLY appreciated. since none of these other sites seem to help..

you do not need to separate the thread as for the needle their is supposed to be a threader if there isnt just lick the thread and stick it through the hole in the needle
