A fairly simple website for the graphic design program at Flagler designed by Scott Jehl, a fellow designer/developer in the Boston area. It's more about the little things in this design that get my attention as well as the focus on content. I also like this site much better than the actual Flagler College website.

1950s Graflex Speed Graphic

I've been given an old 1950s Graflex Speed Graphic as used by Weegee, amongst others. It's a big old monster, but utterly beautiful in its mechanics and aesthetics. Hopefully it still works. It seems okay. It takes 4x5 neg which thankfully you can still get, and should also work with the old polaroid back I've just won on ebay.
Polaroid 4x5 is expensive so I'll have to shoot carefully, but you get both a positive and negative image. You have to expose for one or the other, I'm told. Apparently the negs from polaroid are excellent. We'll see. I'll put up the results either way!
Having said that, not really sure what the hell I'm doing or how to properly operate the new beast. Or what I'm going to photograph with such a machine. Have some vague ideas but that's it.
Flickr and the kind comments people have left has certainly rekindled my passion to make images. That creative enthusiasm around photography has been kind of dormant in me for many years. Not quite sure what I'm capable of now. So fingers crossed. Better not question too much and just do, I suppose.
